Pre-assembled ReadyChain® cable carrier systems from igus® were chosen for the energy supply, for which the manufacturer wanted to procure everything from one source. By working exclusively with igus® on this project, the company drastically reduced the number of suppliers they had to work with.

Due to the extremely high dynamics involved in this demanding application, the cable carrier had to be stable, rugged and not too heavy. The Energy Chain® experiences very high cross accelerations, especially on the Y axis.

The pre-harnessed cable carrier is filled with a multitude of control and drive cables. The motor cable for the Y axis assumes the most significance, as it is the cable with the largest diameter.

igus® is committed to keeping a certain quantity of pre-assembled ReadyChain® cable carrier systems ready to deliver to the laser cutting facility within a set period of time. For this reason, igus® can respond flexibly to the factory’s requirements. The cable carrier system is delivered directly to the machine exactly when it is needed. This system shortens installation times and frees up storage space on-site.
