Optimum tracking

This photovoltaic system is tracked for optimum solar energy yield. The movement is realized using cable pulleys. Their mounts are placed under great strain. As well as coping with the weather and fluctuations in temperature, the bearings have to withstand permanent radial and axial loads. This means conventional metal bearings were excluded from the outset. Instead, the developers used lubricant- and maintenance-free iglidur® G plastic plain bearings from igus®.
