iglidur® H | High temperature and chemical resistance iglidur® H is a fibre-reinforced thermoplastic material that was specially developed for applications in high humidity or under water. Plain bearings made from iglidur® H can be used completely free of lubrication; in wet applications, the surrounding media acts as additional lubricant. Suitable for temperatures up to +200°C. For each material, the moisture absorption and the thermal expansion are decisive factors. Plain bearings with low moisture absorption can be installed with a smaller bearing clearance. The rule for wall thickness: the thicker the wall of the bearings, the larger the clearances must be. <a href="/l/plain-bearing/wiki/tolerances">Testing methods</a> Assembly iglidur® plain bearings are press-fit bearings. The inner diameter is only adjusted to the appropriate tolerance after pressing into the housing. The press-fit excess dimension can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. This ensures the secure press-fitting of the bearings.
