iglidur® A350: heat-resistant filament for food contact

FDA-compliant and food compatible according to EU 10/2011

The iglidur® A350 filament was developed as a complement to the proven plain bearings and bar stock made of the iglidur® A350 polymer. It is food compatible according to the FDA and EU Regulation 10/2011. This allows 3D printing service to manufacture customised customer components with additive manufacturing within four days. If the company has a high-temperature 3D printer, the iglidur® A350 filament can also be purchased in the shop and processed independently.  
 
As an abrasion-resistant high-temperature filament, the A350 is especially suited to applications in the food and packaging industries.  Processing is demanding and requires an installation space temperature of at least 160 °C.

With its five decades of expertise in wear-resistant components made of self-lubricating high-performance polymers, igus offers new possibilities in 3D printing. The iglidur polymers have been specifically developed for 3D printing and are a lot more wear-resistant compared to regular 3D printing materials. Hence, wear resistance and friction are at the same level as with conventionally produced iglidur plain bearings. This shows that the igus 3D printing materials have been designed specifically for industrial use as durable function parts.  
The iglidur 3D printing polymers are thoroughly tested in the in-house test lab with regard to wear and friction. That way, the service life of igus 3D printing components, e.g. as gears or plain bearings, can be calculated online in advance. In addition to special polymers for applications in specific surroundings, igus offers expert advice, practical online tools and configurators, as well as free samples of our materials and products made out of them.
