iglidur® tribotape® F160

The tribotape® liner from igus® is suitable for lining a wide range of tribologically stressed surfaces and shapes, for optimising transport tasks, for machine beds, etc. With a thickness of only 0.5 - 1mm (including adhesive tape + 0.21mm), the space required is very small. The simple processability - cutting is possible with scissors - and the optional self-adhesive tapes of the liner result in almost unlimited application possibilities.
The iglidur® tribotape® liner is also available with self-adhesive tapes for simple and quick installation.

Limits of bonding with adhesive tapes

There are limits to the adhesive forces of the adhesive tape with which this tribotape® is equipped. Unlike structural bonding, various environmental influences can affect the adhesive system and lead to the detachment of the substrates.
High-strength, durable adhesive bonds can generally only be achieved using chemically reactive one- and two-component adhesives. In these cases, adhesives, substrates and the pre-treatment of the substrates must be precisely matched to one another. The variety of possible combinations does not allow us to make any specifications or recommendations here.
We expressly point out that the adhesive tape of the igus® tribotape® can only facilitate the assembly and fixation of the tape. Experience has shown that the adhesive strength of the tape decreases over time. igus assumes no liability for an adequate adhesive system based on the adhesive tape.

Special note for the ESD tribotape® iglidur® F160

The liner must be earthed to dissipate electrostatic charge. This can be done, e.g. by a metal rail, a metal strip, or other suitable earthing means. The adhesive backing of the tape is not conductive.
