Virtually contactless energy supply for long travels - low noise, low wear, safe and available!
Levitare, latin, "float"
1 Modular
igus® E-Chain® in different
widths and bending radii,
"magnet free"
2 Support elements
3 Contactless guidance of
upper run and (optional)
lower run
4 Magnet modules
Definition of "floating", acc. to Meyers encyclopedia, vol. 21, 1977: To be located freely
within a liquid or gas, without protruding a surface (i.e. water surface). term used
for illustration
The principle of magnetic "floating" is based on the attractive forces of a magnetic field, centering on all sides. Due to this "centering", the E-Chain® moves nearly contactless with very low friction and wear characteristics and minimal wear.
Unsupported configuration, even for very long travels. Upper and lower run will never come in contact with each other. The lower run can be "floating" as well (optional).
Long travels without gliding of the E-Chain® on itself
Nearly wear-free through low wear E-Chains® with no pin/bore link connection and virtually contactless motion
igus® LeviChain is very quiet [41,7 dB(A) in 1 m distance], relative to other energy supply systems, with almost no rolling and sliding noise
High speed, acceleration and good deceleration characteristics
Easy harnessing, even when E-Chain® is already installed, thanks to the proven igus® "Easy" design
Upper and lower run can move independently off each other, allowing for asymmetrical motion
Horizontal and vertical installation possible
Low space requirement in height and width
2 E-Chains®, opposed
Offset motion possible
1 Horizontal applications
2 Vertically hanging applications
3 Vertically standing applications
Easy cable installation through proven "Easy" design
Applications:
Clean rooms
Paint shops, painting equipment
Medical equipment
Measuring devices
Electronics manufacturing
Storage systems and material handling
Industrial robots
Travel S (min. 1000 mm, steps 25 mm lenghts)
Magnet modules:
M: Magnet module
B: Support tray
MM: Magnet modules above/below
MB: Magnet modules above, Support trays below
