Bearings are integral components that help with rotation. They act as a support to a rotating shaft within an application.

Bearings reduce friction between moving parts and support rotational or linear movement. They can use rolling elements (balls or rollers) to distribute loads and minimise friction, ensuring smooth operation and alignment of components. With our polymer materials, this allows the rolling movement without the balls.

Self-lubricating bearings work the same as lubricated bearings but without the mess! Our materials are embedded with lubricants which allow a smooth running surface without additional lubrication.

To measure bearings depend on the type of bearing.

Our plain bearings are measured once press-fit into a housing so not in a relaxed state. The ID adjusts itself to the correct tolerance once press fir into a H7 housing.

For spherical, ball bearings and linear bearings, a plug gauge for internal bores and verniers of other measuring equipment like this for all other dimensions.

Different types of bearings include;

• plain bearings (including sleeve bearings, thrust washers, flanged bearings)
• ball bearings (including deep groove ball bearings, ball transfer units)
• spherical bearings (including rod ends, pillow blocks)
• slewing ring bearings
• linear bearings
