Our data cables are available in various mechanical classes and three electrical designs, tailored to meet specific transmission requirements. To ensure reliable performance, we use twisted pair construction and optional pair shielding to maintain key electrotechnical parameters.

Twisted pairs reduce crosstalk and minimise interference from electrical and magnetic fields, as disturbances largely cancel each other out. For higher protection, cables with individually shielded pairs provide additional defence against electromagnetic interference between cores.

igus® does not produce SY cables, why? SY stands for steel wire braided, and the galvanised steel wire braid are not designed to withstand repeated bending or flexing as the steel braid can fracture or unravel over time.
