In order to simplify tedious processes that are carried out by hand and at the same time make employees redundant, we have developed a device on behalf of a customer that makes it possible to automate the sanding process. The room linear robot travels a predefined path including the curvature of the surface.

The original grinding process was very time-consuming and tied a lot of the know-how of the workforce to a simple preparatory measure. A remedy could be found here with simple and cost-effective means.

With the igus room linear robot, curved surfaces can also be processed with the grinding machine. The advantage of this system is its insensitivity to dirt and its scalability. With just a few steps, further polishing stations can be set up in next to no time.
