The EC/BLDC brushless motors have a high speed and allow quick positioning. The encoder also makes positioning very accurate. igus® brushless motors are wear-resistant and generate little heat. The long operating time and service life are further factors in favour of the brushless EC motors by igus®.

igus® motor control systems are designed to operate stepper, DC, and EC motors with precision and ease, making them ideal for automation tasks. These intuitive controllers allow users to set travel paths, speeds, and operating times, and are compatible with industrial systems like PLCs. Free sample programs are available to help users explore and test the software.

An item that is sometimes overlooked when buying an electric motor is the cables. We have a range of cables that are suited for all of our motors.

igus® offers a range of power supplies from 75W to 960W, designed to support all dryve motor controls and the full igus® motor series. Available in 24V and 48V options for different speed and performance needs, these DIN rail-mounted units include built-in protections for safe, reliable operation in automation systems.

There are various types of DC motors. Brushed DC motors use carbon brushes and are suitable for simple automation tasks, such as small adjustments and basic movements. There are also brushless DC motors, also known as EC motors
Brushless DC motors, also known as EC motors, which stands for electrically commutated motors. These are very efficient, high-speed motors that can reach 3000 rpm while maintaining good torque characteristics.
To control the speed of a brushed DC motor, you need to vary the voltage supplied to it. For a 24 V brushed DC motor, supplying 24 V will run the motor at its full rated speed, while supplying 12 V will run it at around half of its rated speed. Practically, the easiest way to adjust the voltage is by using a method called PWM, or Pulse Width Modulation, where the supplied voltage is switched on and off very quickly so that the average voltage is whatever you need it to be.
To control the speed of a brushless DC motor, you will need a motor driver, such as the D1 dryve controller, which gives you full control through a web browser interface.
When a BLDC motor is sized accurately for an application, it can be much more efficient than a comparable high-voltage AC motor system
Stepper motors tend to be DC motors instead of AC.
