Lubrication-free lead screw technology for refrigerated counter-locking system

The cooling of the counter, the organisation of the products and the locking system should work perfectly in order to create a positive shopping experience. The Italian company Cisaplast has set itself the task of developing a refrigerated counter that closes automatically. The components used in the locking system had to meet a wide variety of requirements.

Various igus components have proven themselves by meeting the corresponding requirements. The parts installed in the locking system of the refrigerated counter had to be durable, require no lubrication or maintenance and be lightweight. dryspin lead screw drives were used for opening and closing. They were driven by a drylin stepper motor. The lead screw nut consists of the high-performance polymer iglidur J and is therefore 100% free from lubrication and maintenance.

The low temperature ranges do not pose a challenge for the material. Low friction of the lead screw drives and quiet and vibration-free operation were further decisive factors. With the help of the dryspin lead screw drives and the matching stepper motor, a solution was found to make opening and closing the refrigerated counters as convenient as possible for customers.
