Test cabin and conference table

Rooms for testing sensory perceptible specifications have a problem: DIN EN ISO 8589 specifies clear requirements for furnishing and design. The prerequisite for a standardised test procedure and the achievement of usable and comparable results are test areas and rooms that are specially set up and designed for this purpose. According to the ordinance, a test area, a preparation area and an office must be available. It is not always easy to fulfil these design and furnishing requirements. For example, the appropriate space must be available. Moduscomplete Lda from Portugal has come up with a solution to utilise this space effectively.

Test booths have been developed for sensory evaluation in accordance with ISO 8589:2007. The booths consist of side and rear lifting partitions that allow the test rig to be transformed into a meeting table. The combination of the different booths with the partitions makes it possible to create a group work table. It was necessary to develop a solution that would allow the panels to be raised over a distance of approximately 500 mm and for a reasonable amount of time. It was also important that this movement was smooth and continuous. Until the final solution was finalised, other alternatives with other equipment were also investigated, but these did not meet the requirements. Now a smooth, continuous and simultaneous movement is made possible in the intended time interval.
