Strong energy supply systems for cable- and pipe-laying equipment

The equipment on pipe-layers must withstand harsh weather conditions at sea and meet stringent safety requirements. A large number of heavy cables supply the tower, tensioner, welding systems, heavy-duty cranes and retractable ship propulsion systems with energy, data and power. For years, our energy supply systems have been used successfully to protect and safely guide cable packages. E4.1 series e-chains are corrosion-free, vibration-resistant and comparatively lightweight. Designed to save space, they offer great advantages on working ships, where installation space is limited.
The same applies to our rotation modules, which are used in rotary cranes as an alternative to slip rings. Maintenance costs with cable-friendly energy chains in the complete system can be 90% less than with slip rings.

Pipe-laying tower

At the foot of the pipe-laying tower, the entire cable package, along with hydraulics or water, must be reliably routed vertically. The large E4.350 e-chain is used here.
