A camera slider is a popular tool for even camera movements during product shots or in time-lapse sequences. This can be a simple linear rail with a carriage, on which the camera is mounted and moved back and forth manually. It can also be a more complex system with a motor and control system if automation, remote control and more precision are required. Anyone who does not want to resort to a ready-made system can assemble a slider individually with our motion plastics components:
Making a DIY camera slider is actually not as difficult as you might think. The linear slider can be bought as a complete set with carriages, liners and the rail from igus®. We can motorise these or these can be moved by hand.
To customise the camera slider means a few options are available. We can machine the linear sliders to suit the requirements, we can motorise it, we can create curved versions using the curved rails. We can even coat the slider in different colours, depending on the application or requirements.
