What is a cartesian robot?
igus® cartesian robots are motor driven systems available as a flat, line or room gantry. igus® cartesian gantry robots can be bespoke in design for a host of automated tasks in a multitude of industries, performing xyz linear motions. Typical applications for these linear robots are pick and place, sorting, labelling and an array of assembly applications. The cartesian robot are engineered to be quiet and smooth in operation with self-lubricating components that are corrosion and maintenance-free.
Additionally, igus® cartesian robots are supplied with drylin® linear modules along with a NEMA stepper motors for each axis

Custom flat gantry system for art installation
The River of Light festival in Liverpool showcased ‘Face Value’, a captivating installation using a custom ‘H’ style flat gantry system, with a large stroke of 4m x 4m. The system was able to operate smoothly, quietly, and provided a low-maintenance solution that enabled the technology to work seamlessly within the immersive experience.
