Definition of a Top Hat Bearing

Top hat bearings, more commonly known as flanged plain bearings, are cylindrical sleeve bearings with an integral radial flange. The flange provides additional axial load support and precise axial positioning, allowing the bearing to accommodate combined radial and thrust loads.
