What happens next?
In 2025, igus® UK Ltd will reinvest the proceeds from our existing cable recycling program to support The Wildlife Trust — a federation of 46 independent local Wildlife Trusts working across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Their mission is to protect wildlife and wild places on land and at sea, ensuring a healthier natural environment for future generations.

So, how are we going to achieve this?
igus® has carefully selected a trusted ISO45001 AND ISO14001 certified partner, a re-processor with 37 years of recycling experience. It is their policy to provide a fully auditable and sustainable alternative to landfill or the secure disposal of metals, electrical, electronic and other equipment and materials managed by the company" Together we are dedicated to tackling recycling cables sold in the UK. Our re-processor strives to have as little impact on the world as possible through their recycling processes. They use water separating process to split the materials.

The copper extracted, with your help, will be recycled and the funds raised from this will be donated to the amazing Woodland Trust. Participants in this program will receive a certificate from igus®.

Less CO2 emissions thanks to short delivery routes
We try to avoid long transport routes in general. Thanks to our local supply chain, igus can offer 70% of all chainflex cables worldwide with short transport routes.
This saves us a lot of CO2 and you as a customer benefit from fast delivery times.
Copper recycling: using finite resources responsibly.
igus recycles up to 100% of the copper waste from old cables. The copper is separated from the other materials in the cable, collected, processed into stranded wires and reused for new cables.
This means that the finite resource of copper is not simply thrown away. Instead, igus uses it responsibly and helps cover the constant demand for copper without wasting resources.
We don't just throw away surplus lengths!
At the end of a cable drum, there are usually surplus lengths of the respective cable. The quality is of course exactly identical to the rest on the cable drum and comes with the same 4-year guarantee.
What happens to these surplus lengths? Throwing them away is neither sustainable nor sensible!
That's why we offer our available residual lengths of each cable in our online shop at a 50% discount.
