Here you will find an overview of the various product areas relating to pre-assembled cables. Cables for drive technology make up a large proportion of the cable assemblies.
Another large area is customised harnessing according to customer requirements.
We also connect the highly flexible chainflex® cables with connectors to cover the following product areas.
With almost 6,000 pre-assembled motor, servo, signalling and encoder cables for use in energy chains and in line with 38 manufacturer standards, igus® offers the right drive cable for almost every application. The large selection of drive cables is due to the up to 7 cable qualities per cable specification. The motto here is not: "One cable for every application" but you select the optimum cable based on the operating conditions and the location of the cable. Whether icy temperatures (down to -40°C), oil or limited installation space dictate the choice of cable, you will always find the most favourable and suitable drive cable for your application with the help of the 7 cable qualities. A 4-year guarantee or 100 million strokes in the energy chain provide additional protection. The third pillar for choosing the right drive cable is the online service life calculator. With just a few clicks, the service life of the drive cable is calculated to suit the application.

By using EPLAN macros, you can save a lot of time during design and purchasing, as all important information is automatically loaded into the system for you and your colleagues.
We currently offer EPLAN macros suitable for these drive manufacturers:

Only one insert is installed per connector housing. We offer these plug-in connectors in housing sizes 6B, 10B, 16B and 24B.
The plug-in connectors of the Han® EE series are designed for 500 V contamination degree 3 when fully assembled. A modified contact arrangement allows use in the same degree of contamination for higher voltages up to 1,000V. When the plug-in connectors are fully equipped, a higher reference voltage is also possible, but with a lower degree of contamination.

Han-Modular® combines several Harting connector modules within one housing. It is possible to combine signals, power, data and even pneumatics all in one connector housing.
The standard housing sizes remain the same and instead of a monoblock, various inserts can be combined within one housing.
In addition, space requirements are reduced, as the number of housings is reduced and functionality is increased at the same time.
Good reasons for igus to trust in the partnership with HARTING when it comes to cable harnessing: in addition to the capability of integration into their own production, the following criteria were significant for choosing HARTING as supplier for modular plug-in connectors:
igus® readycable® production can play to its strengths with HARTING as supplier and design-in partner of modular Han® industrial plug-in connectors. Quality, lead time, productivity and price are good reasons for choosing igus® cable harnessing. Combining this machine processing of the contacts in the inserts by HARTING with upstream machine cable processing, specialised harnessing areas and Kanban bearings leads to unrivalled flexibility of readycable®:
With well over 5,000 drive cables already available, igus is now expanding its catalogue product range (ready to ship within five working days) with all its advantages (4-year guarantee, no minimum order quantity, no cutting charge, seven different cable qualities, ready for connection and quality tested). The harnessed hybrid cables suitable for Siemens consist of servo cables for power transmission and integrated bus cores for signal transmission (also known as One Cable Connection / OCC).
As a ready-to-connect readycable with minimal cabling effort, they are ready for immediate use and are therefore used in numerous industries and machine tools, such as material handling, conveyor systems and plant engineering.

The Automation Initiative of German Automobile Manufacturers (AIDA) has defined guidelines for cabling between the control cabinet, the robot base and the moving robot axes. igus® readycable® follows this standard for robot cabling in the automotive industry and now offers ready-to-connect chainflex® cables for safe use in moving applications.
We offer AIDA cable configurations with HARTING push-pull components in various chainflex® qualities from the catalogue or with individualised adaptations. In addition, our extension cables offer further savings potential as the usual connection sockets (female / female coupler) can be omitted. All ready-to-connect cables are 100 % end-tested and labelled with a test seal.
Simple and secure data communication in your plant
Digitalisation and data exchange have become an integral part of modern production. With just one wire pair in Single Pair Ethernet, igus® offers you the possibility of future-proof data exchange. Transmission rates of up to 1 Gbit/s are easily possible and the minimisation of the cable to just 1 wire pair offers you further advantages. The 25 % thinner cable compared to the CAT5e cable (CFBUS.PUR.045) allows you to save a lot of space in confined installation spaces, which has a major impact on dynamic movement sequences in the machinery.
The newly developed, industrial-grade connectors from Yamaichi and Weidmüller offer an excellent shield connection and thus reduce electromagnetic interference (electromagnetic compatibility). As sold by the metre, igus® offers a chainflex® type with a highly abrasion-resistant and notch-tough PURouter jacket. All ready-to-connect Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) cables are 100% tested by igus® to ensure safe and reliable data communication.

igus® continues to drive SPE together with strong partners
Single Pair Ethernet is the infrastructure foundation that makes IIoT and Industry 4.0 possible. In order to drive Single Pair Ethernet technology for the rapidly growing IIoT market, igus® is participating in the SPE Industrial Partner Networks* with other strong partners such as HARTING and TE Connectivity.
For the reliable establishment of the entire future SPE ecosystem, standards for transmission protocols, cabling and device components are also being jointly developed and adopted and published in IEEE 802.3 and IEC SC46C.
As a result, the new cable was also designed to fit the T1 connector interface perfectly in partnership. This means that the durable shield is reliably transferred to the connector, thereby ensuring optimum electromagnetic compatibility. The combination of chainflex® cable and SPE connector is extremely robust: igus® uses a highly abrasion-resistant, notch-tough PURjacket and the connector has robust metallic locks with a PCB socket.

The key to industrial automation, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
Technically, Single Pair Ethernet describes the transmission of Ethernet (1000Base-T1) via just two copper wires and enables simultaneous power supply (PoDL) in addition to data transmission via Ethernet. This technological leap leads to a reduction in diameter of around 25 % compared to a conventional Ethernet cable. This white paper provides an overview of the current development status of SPE and shows the opportunities that the new transmission technology opens up for the industry thanks to the significant savings in installation space and the associated weight reduction:

One ready-to -connect connector module instead of many individual connectors
The Module Connect is a new kind of plug-in connector for the connection of electric cables, fibre-optic cables and pneumatic hoses. It is characterised by a space-saving, low-profile housing and can be used wherever a large number of cables have to be connected in an installation space as small as possible.
This is a joint development of igus & HARTING, which makes use of the highly customisable Han-Modular plug-in connector by HARTING. All parts in the form of used modules, articulated frames and housings can be combined with each other as desired on a modular basis and be ordered for cable harnessing at igus as readycable. Back in 2018, igus gave the green light for the first sample projects.
