Definition Nylon bearing

What are nylon bearings?


Nylon bearings are plain bearings that are moulded from the material nylon. Similar to plastic plain bearings they do not require maintenance or lubrication, are hard wearing and have low coeficients of friction. Nylon bearings are used in a wide variety of applications all over the world such as in automotives, machine tools, aircraft etc. The advantages of nylon and plastic plain bearings are that they are a low cost alternative to conventional steel bearings.
